Today marks my 14th Blogiversary, and I celebrate each year as if it were a national holiday! Reflecting on my journey, I remember the day I first ventured into blogging. Back then, I knew very little about this world. All I wanted was a space to share inspiration and be myself. I committed to learning and building this platform, and it’s incredible to see what can happen when you embrace the unknown. With dedication, anything is possible.
As I celebrate this milestone, I want to share some valuable lessons I’ve learned along my blogging journey.
Stop Overthinking and Start Doing:
One of the main reasons I hesitated to start this blog was my tendency to overthink. I spent far too much time contemplating instead of taking action. When I finally hit publish, I had no idea where this path would lead. But I realized that trying could only benefit me. I had to give myself the chance to explore and learn along the way. Reflecting on my accomplishments since then—blog award nominations, numerous brand partnerships, being ambassador speaker at major events, TV and radio appearances and inspiring others—I’m grateful for every step I took to move beyond fear.
Blog for Yourself:
Make your blog a passion project and treat it like a personal business. No matter what challenges life throws at you, keep your blog as a creative outlet. Blogging has become my sanctuary—a place where I can express myself and nurture my creativity.
Let Your Blog Evolve With You:
Over the years, I have grown and changed, and so has my blog. I’m no longer the same 26-year-old who started this journey-I am 40 now, but my mission remains unchanged: to inspire others.
Take a Chance on Yourself:
Always believe in yourself and be your own biggest supporter. You are capable of more than you realize. Embrace opportunities and trust in your abilities.
Give Yourself Permission To Take A Break:
Life can get overwhelming, and it’s normal to lose motivation. Allow yourself time to rest and recharge. During a challenging period in my life, I took a break to heal and rediscover my purpose. When I returned, I was stronger and more focused.
Sometimes Setbacks Are Realignments:
After moving to New York from Puerto Rico, I experienced a significant setback when my accounts were hacked, resulting in lost brand deals and a crisis of identity. I had to confront the reality that my self-worth was not tied to my digital presence. Rediscovering myself and my true purpose became essential during this turbulent time. My social media management business and blog became a priority.
Endings Offer New Beginnings:
Though certain chapters of my life have closed, I believe God has a purpose for everything. I’ll never forget a morning conversation with Him when I questioned why my platforms were hacked. He told me, “I needed you to be hidden.” This message resonated deeply, reminding me that sometimes what we perceive as setbacks can lead to greater opportunities.
Be You and Be Authentic:
In a world filled with pretense, stay true to yourself. Don’t dim your light for anyone else. Your authenticity is your strength and will lead you to success.
Don’t Dim Your Voice:
I’ve shared many personal experiences on this platform, even when I felt scared. I always believed someone would resonate with my words and find motivation. I will never forget the follower who shared that my story helped them choose life over despair. That moment filled me with joy, reaffirming my purpose in creating this space. It’s not about likes or shares; it’s about connecting with the right people who feel safe and inspired here.
As I move forward, I encourage you to embrace your journey, share your story, and inspire others. Let’s continue to build a community where authenticity thrives!
Thank you for being part of this amazing journey as we celebrate 14 amazing years!
Be Lovely, Be You!
