Birds of Prey ( and The Fantabulous Enmancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a representation of women empowerment, girl power and self-love. The fabulous Margot Robbie reprises her epic role as the hilarious and quirky Harley Quinn in this new Warner Bros. spinoff of the Suicide Squad.
Having gone through a though breakup with joker, Quinn finds herself reclaiming her independence, finding her identity and trying to survive the vengeance of many she’s wronged now that she’s no longer under Joker’s protection.
In her post breakup-survival-kicking ass process Harley makes new gal pals who all have to face the bad guy, Black Mask portrayed by Ewan McGregor, who basically wants them all dead. Harley’s new bad ass amigas include Renee Montoya(Rosie Perez) a brilliant detective who’s been walked all over by men, Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) a tough chic with a traumatic past and a mission to venge her families death, Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) tween pickpocket who becomes Harley’s protege and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) a singer with a killer voice and moves.
Besides all the hilarious action packed scenes if you ask me what I love most about the movie it’s Harley’s killer fashion sense. This super-heroine film brings back all the glitter and bright colors inspired by 70s retro fashion.
If your on the search for the perfect galentines activity well after devouring some tacos and margaritas watching this female centric action packed film is the perfect choice. Birds of Prey premieres on February 6th in Puerto Rico. Thank you Warner Bros. for the special invite to watch the movies exclusive special premiere.
Be you, Be Lovely
