The warm weather in New York has been a roller coaster ride, competing fiercely with the lingering chill. One day, it feels like a summer paradise, and the next, it’s sweater weather all over again! As a tropical gal at heart, I’ve found the past winters in New York to be quite the challenge, and I’ve embraced my homebody side. But when the warm weather arrives, you can bet I’m out and about! Recently, I took a lovely stroll through a nearby park, soaking in the sunshine. The view of the Hudson River is simply breathtaking, surrounded by nature and the cheerful songs of countless birds.

Lately, my emotions have been on quite the journey. Last year was a tough one, breaking records as one of the hardest I’ve faced. I navigated through some traumatic experiences, and on top of it all, I lost my beloved grandmother, who brought so much joy into my life. This May 30th marks the first anniversary of her passing, and I miss her deeply. I am incredibly grateful for the support of many amazing, Godly individuals in my life, as well as my grief therapist, who has been a guiding light through this challenging time. If you’ve experienced the loss of someone dear, I wholeheartedly recommend seeking bereavement support. Grief isn’t just about losing a loved one; it can also encompass the loss of a career, a life you once knew, relationships, friendships, and so much more. Learning to navigate grief is essential.
While the past year was undoubtedly tough, it didn’t break me; instead, it strengthened my faith in God, who has been my healer-mentally, emotionally, and physically!
So, here’s a little reminder for you: no matter what you’re facing, always remember, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
