Can you believe it’s a new year already?! As a new year arrives we usually take time to create the resolutions we want to accomplish. I’m not the type to make exercising or dieting a resolution. I gave that up years ago because I’ve come to terms and acceptance of my complete laziness with fitness. My resolutions aren’t cliché and simple. This New Year I’m aiming for my life to be different; to have new experiences and to feel even more accomplished by the end of 2017.
For me 2016 was an incredible year. Though I faced many tough decisions and obstacles my blessings were greater. Every lessoned I learned in 2016 will be applied to make 2017 a great year. I’m very excited for all of the new moments and memories I will live in 2017. I will always have new goals to accomplish and my main resolution is to chase after all of them. In 2017 I want to be an even better version of Charlene. I’ll be working extremely hard this year to accomplish all of my goals and to make this blog even better for all of my amazing followers. I’ve even got a new Schok tablet to help me out with all the work related to Lovely Chicas. Cheers to 2017 and all of the amazing experiences it will bring.
By the way, if you like my Schok tablet and would like to purchase your very own check out the official website here http://www.schokgear.com/. There are various colors to choose from.
It’s officially the last day of 2016 and before we enter a new year I want to reflect and reminisce on all that has occurred during this past year. 2016 was beyond a doubt an incredible year. Yes, I did go through a few changes but it was all for the best. This year was full of so many incredible experiences and blessings. During this year I learned so many lessons, which will be greatly beneficial for me in 2017. 2016 was a year of personal and spiritual growth. So many amazing friendship and special bonds were formed. Tons of goals were also accomplished! I got to work with so many incredible brands that I love like Kipling, Urban Decay, Aeropostale, Schok, Bettina Cosmetics, Walmart, A’GACI, Warner Bros., 20th Century FOX, AVON, McDonalds, Macys, Dulzura Borincana and so many more. To remember the best of 2016 I want to share the pictures captured from all of those special moments.

Christmas Eve is for partying and eating tons of food but on Christmas day you’ll find me relaxing at home. My usual Christmas routine is to lounge around home wearing comfy PJ’s as I watch Christmas movies and drink lots of peppermint hot chocolate.
I’m completely in love with my Christmas tree this year. I’ve never had a real natural Christmas tree. Artificial trees have always been my top choice. Why? First of all I’m a bit lazy and I’m not good at maintaining plants so a natural tree would just die on me. Plus, they are very messy. I don’t have the patience to clean pine needles all of the time. Lastly, I prefer artificial trees because they can be reused for many more years to come.
This year, my goal for tree décor was to keep it simple with touches of gold, silver and a bit of rustic style, which thankfully I accomplished. This years Christmas tree and decorations are all from All Ways 99 (Except for the pine cones). All Ways 99 is one of my favorite places to shop at because you can find just about any products like home décor, kitchen and bathroom accessories, school products, toys, beauty & personal hygiene products, party essentials and so much more! The prices are extremely accessible. All Ways 99 is a local Puerto Rican business with more than 70 stores located all over the island. I’m extremely happy with my new chic and beyond lovely Christmas tree thanks to All Ways 99. They also gifted me an amazing fleece throw blanket, which I’ve been comfortably sleeping with every night.
So, there are only 2 more sleeps until Santa comes! I’m hoping Mr. Claus pays me a visit because I’ve been a good girl this year (Well, I think so….lol).
I truly hope you all have a wonderful and magical Christmas! Happy Holidays!
Be you, Be Lovely

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? Not me! I’ve been to tons of stores, have made many purchases but when I check my Christmas list I’ve come to realize that everything I bought was for me! Yes I’m horrible I know. I still have a lot more Christmas shopping to do and this year I did what I’m ever accustomed to do…….leave everything for the last minute. Christmas shopping can be so stressful but I’ve made some really great purchases. In this post I wanted to share a few stress free Christmas shopping tips and of course details of this denim on denim outfit I wore on a recent shopping spree.
I know I’ve said this so many times before but the best part about living in Puerto Rico is wearing shorts in winter! I truly do miss Christmas in New York but I don’t miss the below 0 weather where my nose hairs would freeze and my toes would numb. In Puerto Rico I have the benefit of accomplishing all of my Christmas shopping wearing denim shorts and cute booties.
So, I’ve put together a few simple Christmas shopping tips to help you avoid stress this holiday season.
Make a List:
Write down everyone you’ll be gifting and include various gift ideas for each person.
Start Early:
Waiting for the last minute is a huge mistake! It’s also a very good idea to wake up early and be at the mall a few minutes before it opens to avoid all the hassle of finding a parking spot or waiting on endless lines to purchase your gifts.
Shop Online:
If you hate the stress of shopping at the mall during the holidays shopping online is the best option for you. Plus there are many online sales and great coupon codes. If you haven’t yet register an account on EBATES (www.ebates.com ) where you can get up to 40% cash back on your online purchase and you’ll find tons of discounts and promo codes.
I truly hope these tips are of some help to you and that you survive this holiday shopping season without going crazy or breaking your bank.
As a teenager I use to believe that my 20’s would be my favorite decade, but now in my 30’s its when I’m actually having the best time of my life. I feel so much better in my 30’s than I did in my 20’s. I feel more powerful, free, creative, fearless and even sexier. I underwent tremendous changes this year. Mindless insignificant things don’t worry me anymore. I’m truly living every moment to the fullest.
Ugh and no drama for me! I’ve reduced my circle of friends to a small intimate group of amazing people. I got rid of the toxic people in my life.
This year I grew so much as a person. I even became more determined and motivated. Every goal I set for myself I accomplished.
A few days ago I received a message through snapchat, which actually made me cry tears of joy. A follower told me…. “No matter what you go through, you are always so happy and smiling”. Those who follow me on snapchat know me very well because I tend to share many personal things about my life there. There is one very special thing I learned this year that I must share; being happy is a choice you have to make. My life is very far from perfect. There are many things I deal with everyday. I know what it is to be in a very unhappy place in life. I know what misery and depression are too very well. That’s not a life I wanted to live. I personally made the choice that no matter what I’ve been through or am going through nothing would take my happiness away. I’ve become determined to be the happiest I can be no matter what. All the crap I’ve been through in life are lessons learned. Now in my 30’s I’m enjoying the benefits of my bad experiences. I’ve been through it all so my judgment levels are top notch so no drama or bad vibes will get to me. I’m living life for ME and I don’t care what anyone thinks or has to say about me.
I’m going to say something which I know is going to sound super cliché but I know this new year I’ve been given is going to be my year! I’m going to make every single moment count! I’m in total control of my life. Inspiration fuels and pushes me to keep going.
To my amazing follower’s thank you all for always reading my random posts. I truly hope that my blog and style inspire you because it’s truly my purpose with Lovely Chicas. Thank you for being the main reason behind the amazing blessings and opportunities I’ve received this year. With your support none of this would be possible.
Happy Birthday to me! I’m older but I feel great!

On the 1st of December the first ever influencer Christmas Party was celebrated at Comfort Inn Suites & Suites Levittown. Hosting “Christmas In Comfort” was such a perfect way to begin December. I’m extremely happy with the outcome of this event. Hard work definitely pays off. It made me so happy to see Puerto Rico’s best influencers united having such a great time.
I Want to especially thank all of the brands that formed part of this event; Coca Cola, Medalla Light, Passoa, Splenda , Dulzura Borincana, All Ways 99, Redken, Urban Decay, Delicias by Lele, Schok and A’GACI. Thank you Comfort Inn & Suites for your special treatment!
