Be Fearless

I recently had a very interesting conversation with a longtime friend. We reflected on our past and the struggles that we’ve overcome. As we reminisced one specific word came to my mind during our conversation; Fearless. For many years of my life fear was the biggest obstacle keeping me from my dreams. I use to view my life through a glass wall. All my dreams, all my goals and everything I ever wanted was there so close to me but completely blocked by a glass wall of fear.

Fear is our worst enemy. Fear keeps us hidden in the background. It viciously convinces us that we can never accomplish our dreams. Fear paralyzes us and leads us to live a meaningless life.

How many times have you let an opportunity slip away just because you were too afraid to go for it? I have. When I look at myself in the mirror I know longer recognize myself from the shy and terrified girl I use to be. Facing your fears is the only option you have if you want to lead a happy and successful life. I broke down the glass wall and moved forward towards my dreams. I had to learn to be fearless in everything; in my career, in all of my relationships and all of my decisions. Being fearless I’ve successfully triumphed over so many difficult situations I seriously never thought I would ever be capable of overcoming. At the end of every battle I became stronger and more courageous.

Now, it’s time for you to overcome your fears. Break that glass wall blocking you from your destiny. Face your fears head on. The choice is yours. Would you rather live a miserable life controlled by your fears or be courageous and fight for your dreams.

Live with absolutely no regrets. It’s better to make mistakes than to live your life wondering “What if?”. Don’t let anything stand in your way, it’s time to be fearless.

Be you, be lovely & be fearless,

Tech Series: Favorite Apps On My Tablet

Posted on

As a very busy influencer and blogger owning the Schok mini tablet has made my life so much easier. It’s small enough to fit in a tote or shoulder bag so it goes everywhere with me which means I can easily get so much work done no matter where I may be.

I’ve decided to let you in on a few secrets by sharing the favorite apps I have available on my tablet. These apps greatly simplify all of my daily digital tasks.

WordPress:

WordPress is undoubtly the most popular blogging platform. www.lovelychicas.com is hosted by wordpress so having the app available on my Schok is a must to manage my site. This app allows me to perform many tasks such as editing and publishing posts, verifying comments and managing website maintenance.

Email App:

Having my email account easily accessible on my tablet is super important. I receive so many emails daily. If I don’t keep up to date I will probably loose potential projects or event invitations.

Social Media: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat……..

If you’re a blogger, social media or brand manager you definitely have to manage tons of social media platforms. So, I have every social media app on my tablet, which makes it easier for me to manage and keep them updated with the latest blog post or pictures.

Facetune:

This is my favorite photo-editing app. It helps create the most perfect pictures without the use of photoshop. You can sharpen specific details, smooth your skin, whiten the whites, add filters, defocus certain areas, reshape, resize and refine; seriously there’s tons of options for editing with this app.

Period Tracker: Away from all the business and getting a little personal. Ladies if you don’t have this app you must download it now! This app helps you keep track of your period, when you’re ovulating and other fun womanly stuff (sarcasm). Due to a medical condition my periods are very irregular. I deal with a lot of excruciating pain all through the month. This tracker not only helps me keep track of my cycle but it helps me document all the symptoms I feel during the month making my life easier whenever I visit my gynecologist.

I highly recommend you to install these apps in your tablet to make your tasks easier. If you’re a blogger these apps will help you accomplish so much with no need of access to your computer or laptop. If you don’t own a tablet I highly recommend the Schok mini tablet. What sets this tablet apart from so many others is its transparent appearance and high quality functions. This is definitely the tablet of choice for busy bloggers or boss ladies like me.

My Resolutions For 2017

Posted on

Can you believe it’s a new year already?! As a new year arrives we usually take time to create the resolutions we want to accomplish. I’m not the type to make exercising or dieting a resolution. I gave that up years ago because I’ve come to terms and acceptance of my complete laziness with fitness. My resolutions aren’t cliché and simple. This New Year I’m aiming for my life to be different; to have new experiences and to feel even more accomplished by the end of 2017.

For me 2016 was an incredible year. Though I faced many tough decisions and obstacles my blessings were greater. Every lessoned I learned in 2016 will be applied to make 2017 a great year. I’m very excited for all of the new moments and memories I will live in 2017. I will always have new goals to accomplish and my main resolution is to chase after all of them. In 2017 I want to be an even better version of Charlene. I’ll be working extremely hard this year to accomplish all of my goals and to make this blog even better for all of my amazing followers. I’ve even got a new Schok tablet to help me out with all the work related to Lovely Chicas. Cheers to 2017 and all of the amazing experiences it will bring.

By the way, if you like my Schok tablet and would like to purchase your very own check out the official website here http://www.schokgear.com/. There are various colors to choose from.

The Best of 2016

It’s officially the last day of 2016 and before we enter a new year I want to reflect and reminisce on all that has occurred during this past year. 2016 was beyond a doubt an incredible year. Yes, I did go through a few changes but it was all for the best. This year was full of so many incredible experiences and blessings. During this year I learned so many lessons, which will be greatly beneficial for me in 2017. 2016 was a year of personal and spiritual growth. So many amazing friendship and special bonds were formed. Tons of goals were also accomplished! I got to work with so many incredible brands that I love like Kipling, Urban Decay, Aeropostale, Schok, Bettina Cosmetics, Walmart, A’GACI, Warner Bros., 20th Century FOX, AVON, McDonalds, Macys, Dulzura Borincana and so many more. To remember the best of 2016 I want to share the pictures captured from all of those special moments.

Home For Christmas

Christmas Eve is for partying and eating tons of food but on Christmas day you’ll find me relaxing at home. My usual Christmas routine is to lounge around home wearing comfy PJ’s as I watch Christmas movies and drink lots of peppermint hot chocolate.

I’m completely in love with my Christmas tree this year. I’ve never had a real natural Christmas tree. Artificial trees have always been my top choice. Why? First of all I’m a bit lazy and I’m not good at maintaining plants so a natural tree would just die on me. Plus, they are very messy. I don’t have the patience to clean pine needles all of the time. Lastly, I prefer artificial trees because they can be reused for many more years to come.

This year, my goal for tree décor was to keep it simple with touches of gold, silver and a bit of rustic style, which thankfully I accomplished. This years Christmas tree and decorations are all from All Ways 99 (Except for the pine cones). All Ways 99 is one of my favorite places to shop at because you can find just about any products like home décor, kitchen and bathroom accessories, school products, toys, beauty & personal hygiene products, party essentials and so much more! The prices are extremely accessible. All Ways 99 is a local Puerto Rican business with more than 70 stores located all over the island. I’m extremely happy with my new chic and beyond lovely Christmas tree thanks to All Ways 99. They also gifted me an amazing fleece throw blanket, which I’ve been comfortably sleeping with every night.

So, there are only 2 more sleeps until Santa comes! I’m hoping Mr. Claus pays me a visit because I’ve been a good girl this year (Well, I think so….lol).

I truly hope you all have a wonderful and magical Christmas! Happy Holidays!

Be you, Be Lovely

Stress-Free Christmas Shopping Tips

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? Not me! I’ve been to tons of stores, have made many purchases but when I check my Christmas list I’ve come to realize that everything I bought was for me! Yes I’m horrible I know. I still have a lot more Christmas shopping to do and this year I did what I’m ever accustomed to do…….leave everything for the last minute. Christmas shopping can be so stressful but I’ve made some really great purchases. In this post I wanted to share a few stress free Christmas shopping tips and of course details of this denim on denim outfit I wore on a recent shopping spree.

I know I’ve said this so many times before but the best part about living in Puerto Rico is wearing shorts in winter! I truly do miss Christmas in New York but I don’t miss the below 0 weather where my nose hairs would freeze and my toes would numb. In Puerto Rico I have the benefit of accomplishing all of my Christmas shopping wearing denim shorts and cute booties.

So, I’ve put together a few simple Christmas shopping tips to help you avoid stress this holiday season.

Make a List:
Write down everyone you’ll be gifting and include various gift ideas for each person.

Start Early:
Waiting for the last minute is a huge mistake! It’s also a very good idea to wake up early and be at the mall a few minutes before it opens to avoid all the hassle of finding a parking spot or waiting on endless lines to purchase your gifts.

Shop Online:
If you hate the stress of shopping at the mall during the holidays shopping online is the best option for you. Plus there are many online sales and great coupon codes. If you haven’t yet register an account on EBATES (www.ebates.com ) where you can get up to 40% cash back on your online purchase and you’ll find tons of discounts and promo codes.

I truly hope these tips are of some help to you and that you survive this holiday shopping season without going crazy or breaking your bank.

Be you, Be Lovely
