Summer equals fun at the beach or pool and the hot weather also equivalents to lots of sweating. Don’t worry about your makeup fading away because I’m going to let you in on some great waterproof makeup tips.

The first step to waterproof makeup is using a primer for your face. This helps control oily skin and it also helps your makeup hold on to something. My favorite primer is “Smashbox Photo Finish”.

Use a foundation with SPF. Remember it is very important to protect your skin from the sun’s rays which cause cancer and wrinkles. My Favorite foundation is the “Smashbox Camara Ready BB Cream” which has great coverage and contains SPF35. I also use my “Mac Mineralize Skin finish” face powder to set my foundation.

For blush try using a cream based blush which last longer, for example “Maybelline’s Dream Bouncy Blush”.

For concealer my favorite at the moment is “NYX concealer stick” which is waterproof.

If you are going to wear eyeshadow be sure to wear eyeshadow primer which prevents creasing and will make your eyeshadow last longer. The “Milani Eyeshadow Primer” is really good. Creme Eyeshadows are the best to use in the summer and for pool occasions.

For Eyeliner I use “Lacome waterproof long lasting eyeliner” and for mascara “Covergirl Flamed out Water Resistant Mascara” but any waterproof mascara would be fine to use. Always try products with a waterproof formula, these products contain wax based ingredients that are insoluble to water which make them waterproof.

With this waterproof makeup routine you’re set and ready to take a refreshing dive in the pool. Have fun!!

Facing Your Fears

Have you ever been so frightened of doing something that you prolong doing it or don’t even try it at all? I hate feeling scared. Fear can be a great obstacle and it can even at times be your biggest enemy. In life you may face many fears like trying something new, changing your job, standing up to someone that hurts you, talking to someone you have a crush on, fear of failure, fear of change, fear of what others may think, fear of being alone, fear of not being accepted, fear of getting your heart broken or even the fear of heights. No matter what it is that frightens you it’s time to overcome whatever is holding you back in life.

Fear can get in the way of many great things life has to offer you. Fear can be stopping you from many great opportunities that have come your way but you’ve rejected them because you may fear you’re not good enough or won’t succeed. Fear can be that big huge wall blocking the way to your dreams but it’s time to break through. Don’t ever let fear get in the way of permitting you to reach your goals. It time to put fear aside. When you face your fears you feel free as if many chains that have been tying you down have finally broken. You can’t permit fear to stop you from succeeding in life. In life we must take risks don’t let your fear be an obstacle from fulfilling your dreams. So let go of your fears and live your life to the fullest.

Enfrentando Tus Miedo

Alguna vez has estado tan asustada de intentar algo que prolongas hacerlo o ni lo intentas. Yo odio estar asustada. El miedo puede ser un gran obstáculo y a veces hasta tú peor enemigo. En la vida puedes enfrentar muchos miedos como por ejemplo el miedo de intentar algo nuevo, cambiar un empleo, enfrentar a alguien que te lastima, hablarle a la persona que te gusta, el miedo de fracasar, el miedo del cambio, el miedo de que otros pensaran, el miedo de estar sola/o, el miedo al rechazo, el miedo de que tu corazón sea roto, hasta el miedo a las alturas. No importa que sea tu miedo es tiempo de sobrepasar lo que te esta aguanto a no salir hacia adelante en tu vida.

El miedo es un obstáculo que te impide recibir las grandiosas cosas que esta vida tiene para ofrecerte. El miedo puede haberte impedido obtener buenas oportunidades porque las haz rechazado por miedo a no ser suficiente o por el miedo de no ser exitosa/o. Tu miedo es una enorme pared bloqueando el camino hacia tus sueños pero es tiempo de romper esa pared. No permitas que tus miedos te impidan alcanzar tus metas. Es tiempo de poner tu miedo hacia un lado. Cuando enfrentas tus miedos te sientes libre como si miles de cadenas que te ataban al fin se rompieron. No puedes dejar que tu miedo te impida alcanzar el éxito en la vida. En esta vida tenemos que tomar riesgos, no dejes que tu miedo sea un obstáculo para alcanzar tus metas. Suelta tus miedos y vive tu vida al máximo.

Hey chica’s it’s time for spring cleaning! You know what that means: it’s time to begin the annual deep-cleaning. 1) Analyze all of your clothes, shoes and purses. In order to decide if you’re going to keep any items and check if they pass this test.

Have I worn it in the past year? (If not, Donate)
Does it have any stain, is it ripped or is it worn out? (Throw Away pile)
Do I Like it or not? (If not, donate)
Do I frequently wear it? ( If yes, Keep)
Does it currently fit me? (If not, Donate)
Is it out of fashion? (Donate)

2) After you have cleaned out your closet verify if you may need more shelves to place purses or hooks on the wall to hang scarves, belts and other accessories.

3) Make sure all of your hangers are the same size and shape. Mismatched hangers take up unnecessary space and detract from an organized appearance.

4) Group items that are similar together; hang long sleeved shirts together, short sleeved shirts together, all dresses by dresses, skirts by skirts and pants by pants. This provides you with a much easier way to search for clothing to wear and helps you create new fashionable outfit combinations.

5) A perfect way to have your shoes neat and organized is by using a shoe organizer shelf or rack.

Remember that having an organized closet makes it easier for you to pick out fashionable outfits to wear. You also save a lot of time because you won’t waste it looking through clothes you never care to wear. I hope these tips help you chica’s have a beautifully organized closet.

The Little Black Dress

The little black dress is a something every Lovely Chica must have in her closet. My “LBD” is the short name I have given my best friend, the Little Black dress, who never ever fails me. The little black dress symbolizes beauty, sophistication and elegance. The little black dress always saves my life because I can wear it for any occasion. When I have those stressful “I have nothing to wear” moments my little black dress comes to the rescue. I can use my LBD at weddings, church, work, school, to the mall or on a date. You can style them with flats or heels. Personally I own many little black dresses but every woman must own at least one, it’s the number one fashion rule. The LBD is always in style and will forever be in style. A Lovely Chica’s life is not complete without the little black dress, so if you don’t have a LBD I advise you to get one as soon as possible.

El pequeño vestido negro mejor conocido como “The Little Black Dress” es un artículo que toda Lovely Chica debería tener en su armario. El “Little Black Dress” es mi mejor amiga y nunca me falla. “The Little Black Dress” simboliza belleza, sofisticación y elegancia. El pequeño vestido negro siempre me salva la vida porque me lo puedo poner para cualquier ocasión. Cuando tengo esos momentos de “No tengo nada para ponerme” mi vestido negro viene al rescate. Lo puedo utilizar para bodas, la iglesia, el trabajo, la universidad, las tiendas o en una cita amorosa. Te lo puedes vestir con zapatos de taco o zapatillas. Personalmente yo soy dueña de muchos “Little black dresses” pero cada mujer tiene que tener disponible por lo menos un vestido negro, es la regla número uno en el mundo de la moda. “The Little Black Dress” siempre está de moda y siempre lo estará. La vida de una “Lovely Chica” no está completa sin el vestidito negro, si no tienes uno te aconsejo que consigas uno lo más pronto posible. xoxo Charlene
