While most of New York was celebrating the Knicks at the parade in NYC, I chose to cheer them on from the comfort of my home. The thought of big crowds, chaos, and being pushed around on a hot, humid day isn’t quite my style. Still, I wore my Knicks-inspired attire to join in the celebration.
Events like this just aren’t my scene, though. I’ve never even attended the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade or the iconic New Year’s Eve ball drop. I prefer the comfort of my own space, especially when it comes to the little things—like using the bathroom without worrying about long lines or being stuck on a crowded space. 😂 It’s a small price to pay for avoiding the challenges that come with large events.
The Knicks’ epic victory in the finals was nothing short of historic—a moment that resonated deeply with fans across New York. After 53 long years, the team finally brought the championship trophy back to New York, igniting a wave of joy and pride among fans.
What makes their journeys even more iconic are the stories behind each player, filled with struggles, setbacks, and significant criticism. Many lacked the typical attributes associated with basketball, such as height, and were often underestimated. Yet, time and again, they defied expectations and proved everyone wrong.
A special shoutout must go to our very own boricua, José Alvarado, who also made history this season. His energetic play and tenacity on the court have captured the hearts of fans everywhere, and it’s a proud moment for Puerto Ricans to see one of their own shine on such a grand stage.
For fans like me, who couldn’t bear the thought of the crowds, watching the celebration unfold on television was still exciting. The energy of the city was palpable, as thousands filled the streets, their screams echoing off the skyscrapers. I could only imagine the electric atmosphere as the players rode on the floats, waving to their adoring fans, who had supported them through thick and thin.
So, congrats to the champs! Your victory has made history and reignited the spirit of New York basketball. NY stands behind you with pride, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our beloved Knicks!
Be Lovely, Be you
